There are a number of places worth visiting very close by including the lovely Muchelney Pottery at Langport - a family tradition has been continued giving you some superb pieces of pottery. This is situated just a mile from the old village of Muchelney which was once a medieval settlement.
Another lovely spot to venture to is Forde Abbey and Gardens - founded in 1146 seeing the reign of King Stephen. Fabulous furnishings and a real taste of classy living back in the days of finery. The gardens and grounds are breathtaking.
Martock Village itself has a number of interesting place to visit including Bower Hinton Farm dating back to the 13th century, Parrett Works which was once known as Cary's Mill in the Doomsday Book - this is the place where carts are made - very interesting.
Enjoy the countryside and close by you have access to all the hill ranges - Blackdown Hills, the Mendips, the Quantocks, Exmoor and the Dorset Coast - plenty of walking, photographic options and make time to stop for afternoon teas. Find time for a spot of shopping and generally relax and treat yourself.
