Originally built as Georgian hunting lodge in the late 18th century this magnificent building formed the basis of our establishment. Converted to a hotel after the second world war the original charm and character has been carefully maintained through many improvements and additions that have been made over the years to make certain that we keep pace with the ever changing requirements of the discerning traveller.

'The Sport of Kings' theme runs throughout our establishment, reflecting the town of Newmarket's relationship with the sport of horse racing, and is continued in each of our 55 spacious, luxuriously decorated and superbly comfortable twin and double rooms. Good stuff: good nights' sleep - quiet and comfortable

Bad stuff: hairdryer would only operate for a few mins at a time, OK, so not the end of the world, but, when pointing this out at reception during check-out (with the thought that it may be fixed before future residents discover) the response from the guy was - well they are rubbish dryers anyway. For £170/night - not an impressive statement
