Our magnificent establishment can trace its history back to 1588, when it was known as Rising Lodge and was a renown meeting place for 'people of note' and it is claimed to have been the favourite haunt of many members of Royalty. Over the years it grew in both size and fame and eventually became a large and successful working farm. But by the 1980s it had fell into dis-repair, until it was purchased by the present owners who lovingly restored, extended and improved it, creating the luxurious seventy-seven bedroom hotel that you will find today.
Built on one of the highest points in West Norfolk it is hard to imagine a more picturesque location. It stands in eleven acres of its own grounds that provide our guests with ample room to move about, whether its walking or jogging through the spectacular countryside or relaxing with a good book under a tree.
The relaxed atmosphere of our wonderful establishment will help you settle in and feel at home very quickly, add to this the pleasant and welcoming attitude of our staff and you can understand why our guests come back to see us time and time again.
