The ivy covered facade of our old farmhouse building would look perfectly at home in amongst the thatched roof cottages of the village of Rolleston-on-Dove that stands nearby. When you enter the area it's like stepping back in time, as modern life seems to have hardly affected the area and it is a fresh and pleasant as it always has been. When you stay here it can be hard to accept that Derby, Stoke on Trent, Stafford and Walsall are just a short drive away.
Our rural location in a picturesque village is also an ideal location for visitors who want to explore the region, for the tourist there are many interesting and exciting places to visit that will keep family members of all ages amused, for the business traveller easy access to the major road network means that you can travel quickly and easily around the area, returning to a peaceful and relaxing location to enjoy wonderful food and a good nights sleep.
We have just 19 well proportioned single and double rooms that are individually decorated with original exposed beams and period features. As you would expect from an establishment like ours, none of the rooms are exactly the same, they are all different and have their own distinct character. Each room is furnished using genuine antiques, with each room having an authentic antique bed, of course we have made certain that they are all exceptionally cosy and comfortable.
Our restaurant has gained an enviable reputation for the high standard and consistency of its food and it is popular not only with our guests but also to the local villagers and reserving your table prior to your arrival is recommended, especially at weekends. The ambiance in the restaurant is soft lights, with the candlelight reflecting off the silver tableware and cut glass, the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the exceptional cuisine that is freshly prepared and cooked to your liking. We also have an extensive wine list, with many rare and unusual wines from around the world for you to sample.
