Our magnificent establishment has a long and distinguished history that stretches back to its origins way back in 1254, when it was called the Fox and Hounds; parts of todays hotel can be traced back to the 16th century and has oak beams that were taken from Spanish ships of the Armada. As you would expect with a building that has such a heritage, it has seen its fair share of history and when you stay with us you will be joining the likes of Queen Victoria, Jane Austen. Wordsworth, John Keats and even more famously Admiral Lord Nelson, who secretly shared time with his love Emma Hamilton here before going to face Napoleon at Trafalgar, a battle from which he was never to return.
Today we offer our guests 57 wonderfully well appointed, elegantly decorated and supremely comfortable rooms, each having its own special character. To keep pace with todays traveller all of our rooms have stylish en-suite bathroom with bath or shower and complimentary toiletries; central heating; a work area with desk and lamp, direct dial telephone with modem connection; trouser press; iron and ironing board; alarm clock radio; hairdryer; colour TV with satellite channels; smoke detectors and hospitality tray with tea, coffee and biscuits.
Enjoy the superb cuisine in our Emlyn Restaurant, a stylish and relaxed place to dine, located in the main house and overlooking the beautiful gardens. We offer a range of excellent dishes, all lovingly prepared by our talented and imaginative Chef.
As a family friendly establishment we provide cots, cribs, highchairs on request, baby changing facilities are also available.
