Bedford itself has a lovely shopping complex - The Harpur Centre where you will find about 30 shops and a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere to browse and treat yourself. Riverside walks will take you to cafes and bars where you can socialise and there is a great market on Wednesday's and Saturday's. With two theatres, six screen cinema and Musical Concert Hall - Bedford Corn Exchange there is no shortage of entertainment. Ceil Higgins Museum and Art Gallery can be found next to Bedford Castle - a Victorian mansion house where you can view ceramics, glassworks and paintings.
Within an hours drive you can enjoy Oxford and Cambridge and if you are a racing fan Silverstone Race Track is about the same distance away too.
We are a perfect base for visiting other sights such as Woburn Abbey, Whipsnade Zoo and Knebworth House.
Another worthwhile trip to be taken is to the nearby Ampthill Wrest Park Gardens - Chinese, Baroque and classical themes, gardens and water features - lovely for an afternoon out.
