The small and picturesque village of Danby is located within the North Yorkshire National Park, just a short drive from the popular sea side town of Whitby. Our quaint, ivy-clad building is steeped in the history of the area and now provides visitors with comfortable and convenient accommodation, friendly service and excellent food at a reasonable price.
Our welcoming and friendly establishment is set amongst some of the most spectacular scenery that England has to offer. Right in the heart of the North Yorkshire National Park, we are surrounded by the hills, dales and moors that have made this part of England special and area of outstanding natural beauty.
Built as a coaching inn in 1732, our wonderful hotel has a long and varied history and during the Napoleonic Wars it was used as a recruiting post and during recent renovations and improvements an original plaque to the Duke of Wellington was discovered on the outside of the building and is now on display in the bar. The atmosphere inside the building is cheerful and friendly, with all of our guests receiving a warm welcome when they arrive and traditional Yorkshire hospitality throughout their stay. We have nine well proportioned, elegantly decorated rooms that have a relaxed and soothing ambiance that is perfect for a good nights sleep. Each room is comfortably furnished and has all of the facilities expected from an establishment of this class.
A choice of breakfasts are available each morning and our restaurant is renown locally for the excellent quality of its meals, with a wide range f dishes available.
The unique charm and character of our friendly establishment, coupled with comfortable accommodation and convenient location makes us the ideal place to make your base during your visit to his magnificent area.
