Our stylishly elegant establishment provides calm and peaceful accommodation for visitors who want to experience the delights of the Dorset countryside. Privately owned and operated the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and with just twenty one supremely comfortable and well equipped single and double rooms you will have everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Located in a wonderfully quiet and leafy part of Old Sherbourne our imposing establishment was built in Georgian times as a private residence and has been a noted landmark in the town ever since. The outside is impressive, and our guests are pleasantly surprised by the walled garden that gives a peaceful and comfortable place to relax in the sunshine with a good book, enjoy afternoon tea or a drink at the end of the day.
The ambiance inside is still that of a refined gentleman's house, with tastefully decorated, spacious, light and airy rooms that all have their own charm and character that has developed over the years. We have twenty one wonderfully well appointed rooms, including some in the new wing. Each of our rooms have been individually designed and decorated in a style that is both elegant and practical, some double rooms having wonderfully comfortable king sized beds and the others having magnificent fourposter beds, perfect for a romantic break or special occasion.
Our quest for perfection is obvious in all areas and our award restaurant is no exception. With an enviable reputation for superb cuisine that has spread far beyond the confines of Sherbourne or even Dorset, we are rightly proud of the exquisite dinning experience that our guests enjoy. Each item on the menu is created by our talented chef from only the very finest, locally produced ingredients and whether you prefer meat or sea food you can expect a world class dinning experience, completed by a fine wine from our cellar we know that you will not be disappointed.

Good stuff: The room and bathroom had everything we needed, and your staff were excellent.

Bad stuff: Shower cubicle was very difficult to open.
