About 20 minutes away you will find "moonscape" beach at Kilve and a short drive to Bridgewater with its charming canal and its fine Georgian architecture. The birthplace of Robert Blake - you can visit the Museum there and see the full history.
Take a trip in to nearby Taunton where there's lots of interesting facts to discover - Somerset County Museum has a wonderful collection of toys and archaeological finds dating back to Roman times; the Cricket Museum tells of a rich and colourful history and the Church of St Mary Magdalene with its very large tower stands some 160 feet high is also worth a visit.
There's lots of sporting activity here with plenty of walking opportunities in the hills, cycling is a popular way of getting around or why not take to horse back and see the country from a higher perspective.
Take a trip in to nearby Bath and Bristol for some retail therapy if you wish and there are a whole host of restaurants, bars and social scene in both.
