Set in the heart of the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, Shipton-under-Wychwood is a traditional, sleepy English country village, perhaps not the place you would expect to find an exquisite small hotel, with just five unique and luxurious rooms, attentive yet discrete and unobtrusive staff plus an Internationally renown Chef who creates a superb dinning experience.
Great care has been taken to retain the original feel of the building, while providing the latest in facilities. Each room has recently been refurbished by distinguished interior designer Jean Harrod and has its own special theme, with all rooms having a luxurious marble bathroom with power shower; central heating; windows that you can open; radio alarm clock; hairdryer; colour TV with satellite channels; smoke detectors; iron and ironing board and tea and coffee making facilities.
Each room has a unique bed with: a Javanese opium bed made from reclaimed teak, a four poster complete with mosquito net, French provincial bed, black metal bed with bamboo design and a hand carved sleigh bed that compliment the unique design of each room.
Our warm and cosy restaurant has a real fire that adds to the intimate atmosphere. The menu changes frequently to reflect the availability of ingredients, as our internationally acclaimed chef uses only the freshest produce to create the culinary delights for which we have gained an enviable reputation.
