Retaining many of its original features, Inglenook fireplaces, flag stone floors and the heavy wooden beams of its origins in the 12th century, our charming establishment is recognised for its exceptional accommodation, food and service. A perfect base from which to enjoy the delights of the surrounding area.
By 1870 The Lamb was already well established as a posting house, suppling three hundred horses for the coaches that passed by. This magnificent old building still offers a welcome break for weary traveller, and now it provides the very best in accommodation and service for its guests.
Set in the centre of the charming village of Hindon, in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, we have 14 superbly comfortable and well appointed rooms, that have all the modern luxuries that you could desire. All of our rooms are individually and richly decorated, with antique furniture and fittings that reflect the heritage of the building; they all have luxurious en-suite bathrooms, LCD screen TV, with Sky and some also benefit from exquisite four-poster beds.
The restaurant is elegantly and warmly decorated and serves a varied menu. All the food is freshly prepared, with the ingredients sourced by our Chef being either local produced or, where appropriate, from an excellent Scottish supplier.
In our cellars there are many excellent and rarely seen wines, many supplied by excellent small independent vineyards that are too small to supply the large chains. Our bar also serves a wide selection of real ales and for the connoisseur, we have what is probably the finest selection of Malt Whiskys in Wiltshire.
There are numerous interesting places for you to visit, Salisbury Cathedral, with the tallest church spire in England, Stonehenge and Avebury are all within easy travelling distance.
