Our location just a couple of miles from the motorway, is ideal for tourists and business users who want to travel easily around the area, but return to a comfortable and peaceful setting for a good nights sleep. Our splendid establishment has an extraordinary history that stretches back to the end of the reign of Queen Victoria. Originally it was built as a row of three large and imposing Victorian houses and each was privately owned until around 1959, when they were purchased and turned into the elegant establishment you will find today. Legend has it that many famous people have stayed here, including the infamous Kray twins, although exactly why they were in this part of the country no one is quite sure.
The hotel is full of original charm and character, with a relaxing and calming ambiance, with each of our 30 well proportioned, elegantly decorated and supremely comfortable rooms having its own special charm. The process of upgrading and improving the facilities we offer our guests is ongoing, and you will find that your room has everything that the modern traveller would expect to find in an establishment of this class.
We have a residents lounge that is furnished in wonderfully comfortable furniture, the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif before dinning, or relax with drink at the end of along day. Our Harewood Restaurant offers a superb A La Carte menu, plus a selection of speciality dishes, and if you would like our chef to create a dish to your taste, they will be happy to oblige.
