We welcome you to our delightfully pleasant world and our 18th century farmhouse. Rural setting with plenty of countryside walks and a charming place to settle for a while. Tasteful and restful ensuite rooms where you can take in the beautiful scenery and completely relax.

All our ensuite rooms are fully equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable and pleasant breakaway from it all.

Chard is on the edge of the Blackdown Hills and there's plenty of scope to discover the surrounding countryside by cycling, walking or horse riding. The town itself dates back to the 13th century and is filled with architectural buildings and a full history can be recounted in the Museum in Godworthy House - this includes the Stringfellow Collection celebrating the inventor of powered flying. Chard Nature Reserve and Hornsbury Mill are worth a visit - there's a working wheel and beautiful landscaped water garden just outside the town.

The charming towns close to Chard include Illminster, Buckland St Mary and Winsham and the main county town of Taunton. There's plenty on offer here with museums and shopping and a host of restaurants, bars and cafes where you can enjoy leisurely lunches, top up on that retail therapy and visit The Old Market Centre and the Courtyard where you'll find antiques, gifts and pieces of interest.

Sporting activities include golfing, swimming and tennis.

Good stuff: Family run, courteous and polite. Service that is hard to find in the UK today. Excellent food and comfortable lounge and good bar facilities. I could well go on.

Bad stuff: More shampoo/shower gel provision. Not enough for someone who wants a shower at the end of a working day and in the morning.
