Burford is a small market town in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside, mid-way between Oxford and Gloucester. Right in the centre of its High Street you will find our warm and welcoming establishment, perfectly placed as a comfortable and cosy base for touring or perhaps just a relaxing break.

When you arrive and sign the guests list you will be adding your name to some most illustrious company, with many famous, and infamous, people staying here before you. The distinctive brick and stone frontage dates back to 1658 and has been welcoming visitors to the area for hundreds of years and it has seen much drama, intrigue and romance, perhaps the most notable of these are Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton who stayed here in September 1802 during a visit to Oxford.
We continue the tradition of welcoming travellers to our area, only now you can stay in luxurious surroundings and enjoy the finest food and wines. We have 10 well proportioned, well equipped and elegantly decorated twin and double rooms plus a spacious suite for those who prefer just a little extra room to move around. Our cosy restaurant provides a quiet, intimate, smoke free environment to enjoy the exquisite cuisine that is freshly prepared from the finest ingredients, all you have to do is select the perfect bottle of wine to complete your meal.
