Our wonderful listed property is in the heart of the beautiful Rutland countryside. Located in the pretty market town of Uppingham we are just a short distance from the famous Rutland Water, the largest man made lake in the UK and an area of conservation and outstanding natural beauty.

Situated at its heart the pretty market town of Uppingham is the ideal place to make your base if you are planning to spend time exploring the regions many delights. A quiet and pretty place to stay it gives easy access to all of the many excellent places that there are to visit and is close to the breathtaking Rutland Water, the largest man made lake in Europe, a Mecca for water sports enthusiasts. plus it has the added advantage of being an exceptionally beautiful place to visit.
Our listed building provides superb accommodation, excellent food and a high level of personal service for our guests. With just 9 well proportioned twin and double rooms the atmosphere is always intimate and cosy, and the service is always attentive, yet discrete and unobtrusive. To keep pace with the ever changing needs of our guests we are constantly improving the facilities we provide and each of our rooms include stylish en-suite bathroom with bath or shower and complimentary toiletries; central heating; windows that you can open; iron and ironing board; hairdryer; radio alarm clock; colour TV;
smoke detectors and a beverage centre with tea, coffee and biscuits. If you want to be certain that you don't get too cosy in the comfortable bed and miss the breakfast that is included in the price, you can book a wake up call at reception.
Our Chef uses only locally produced ingredients to create the superb dishes that have earned our restaurant its excellent reputation. Exquisite cuisine served in elegant and intimate surroundings and enhanced by the finest wines have won praise from guests and locals.

Good stuff: Good friendly atmosphere, excellent food (including vegetarian meals which were freshly prepared) and drink and superb value for money. We would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Overall + Stuff we would like to have known: We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The setting was convenient for our time spent in this area. It was a friendly hotel with great attention to detail. Our room was well set out and private. There was an extensive wine list and excellent cask ales (including the wonderful Timothy Taylor's Landlord) to compliment the wonderful food.
