Finding us in this beautiful sea side town is simplicity itself - follow the signs for Brighton, then once you're in the town follow the signs for the 'Sea Front' and there, right in the middle, you will find the Old Ship. A wonderful, friendly hotel that is perfectly located for those visiting on holiday or on business.

Many of the beautiful buildings in Brighton were built to cater for the boom in sea side holidays in the late 17th and 18th century. When the expansion of the railway brought travelling to the coast for a day trip or holiday within the reach of the working man, sea side town like Brighton became popular. But the Old Ship boasts a much longer and more interesting history, the magnificent white facade of our distinctive building has stood on this spot on the sea front since it was built in 1559 - making it the oldest hotel in Britain.
With a wide range of accommodation we can cater for all needs, whether you're a single traveller on business or a family here on holiday.
All of our rooms are well equipped and wonderfully comfortable and many of our superior twin and double rooms have spectacular views of the English Channel. As you may expect with a building of this age each room has its own unique character and although the decoration is smart and modern, the original ambiance of the building can still be felt.
As you arrive the wonderful atmosphere of elegance and sophistication greets you, along with a member of our professional and friendly staff who will make certain that everything is to your satisfaction. Like most accommodation in Brighton we do not have our own car park, this is because there was not a lot of call for them when most of the properties were built. However there is secure parking just a few minutes walk away and we supply a valet to park and retrieve you car for you.
We have a choice of dinning options, with Redz Brasserie at the Old Ship Hotel offering a contemporary venue with an exciting fusion of traditional English, including some superb local dishes, and delicious continental cuisine.

Good stuff: Comfortable bed! Lovely bar and reception area. Also a great location right on the sea front.

Bad stuff: We had a problem with the temperature of the water in our bathroom.

Overall: Good although the problem with the water was slightly irritating.
