Our family run establishment dates back to the 17th century and is filled with old world charm, character and features. This is the place to taste original ales and beers and languish in the cosy ground floor bar with its old beams and tranquil appeal.

We have just 10 rooms on offer which are delightfully set out, most of which are ensuite and all have TV and DVD. Simple but tasteful decor and a relaxed appeal ensure you have a very good night's sleep. Arriving at whatever time and making yourself a refreshing cup of tea as you relax and prepare for your evening.

We serve a choice of delicious dishes as well as a popular Sunday lunch, good selection of ales and beers as well as wines and soft drinks. Good stuff: The room, staff and town were charming and good.

Bad stuff: The shower was mecurial and stopped working half way through or varied between freezing cold and scorching hot so not great.

Overall: Would definitely stay again as the service was great and the venue was perfect.
