Picture of The Roman Way

Built and opened to the public in 1980 a Roman theme was elected for the design of our new and stylish hotel. Just 1 mile from the centre of Cannock, we are on Watling Street a Roman road that was once the main highway from London to Holyhead.

Watling Street is a famous Roman road that the Romans built to allow them to quickly move their armies to quell any uprisings amongst the rabble in the north. Now, hundreds of years after the Romans left the isle, the road is still used as a major thoroughfare, linking many of the busy towns along its path.
Because of this Roman link, a Roman theme was chosen for the design of our establishment and you will find classic Roman columns, statues and marble floors, giving the place a Romanesque feel. Our location just five minutes from both junctions 11 and 12 of the M6, two minutes from the M6 toll road and ten minutes from the M54, makes travel around the region quick and easy with the cities of Birmingham and Coventry and the town of Telford and Stoke on Trent can all be reached within half an hours drive.
We have 56 well proportioned and stylish twin and double rooms that are tastefully decorated in harmonising colours and soft fabrics and furnishings. Each room is equipped with all of the facilities our guests need during their stay, including en-suite bathroom with complimentary toiletries; central heating; opening windows; a work area with desk, lamp, direct dial telephone and a direct modem link; trouser press; hairdryer; colour TV with satellite channels; smoke detectors; security chain and a beverage centre with tea, coffee and biscuits.
Enjoy an aperitif in our cocktail lounge, before moving into our cosy restaurant to sample the superb cuisine that is created for you by our experienced, talented and imaginative Chef.

Bad stuff: The room was far to hot, even when we turned off the radiator. We had to sleep with the window open which caused us concern as we were on the ground floor.
