Although he wasn't the first person to enjoy the bracing sea air and safe bathing that this historic coastal town has to offer, when the Prince Regent visited in 1783 and declared that he had enjoyed it so much that he would spend time here, he launched a fashion for sea side holidays that has endured to this day. The up turn in families visiting the coast lead to many hotels being built and in 1826 our magnificent Regency hotel was opened to the public. It was then, and is still today, the most stylish and popular place or visitors to stay while they enjoy the delights of the town.
Our location is perfect - on the promenade and directly opposite the beach, with many of our rooms have superb views out across the sea, it is hard to imagine a more perfect setting for a family holiday.
