Originally built as a school, this Victorian grade II listed building now offers superb accommodation and the perfect location for a relaxing holiday, a base for visiting the many local places of interest or for the business user visiting one of the many industrial centres that are located around Swindon.

Set in the Wiltshire countryside, a few miles to the west of Swindon, our delightful Victorian grade II listed building was originally a school, but now offers travellers a high standard of accommodation and service. An award winning establishment you will find we have everything to ensure that your visit with us is a memorable experience, for all the right reasons.
We have 10 tastefully decorated and furnished rooms that are supremely comfortable and have en-suite bathrooms, colour TV, tea/coffee making facilities, direct dial telephone and WiFi internet connection.
The dinning room was once the school assembly hall and has high ceilings and tall mullioned windows, but now it is elegantly decorated to provide relaxing atmosphere in which to enjoy the varied menu provided by our Chef, with seafood, oysters, mussels and scallops fresh from Falmouth, being a particular speciality of the house.
There is also a bar area where you can sit and unwind with a drink from the bar, chat with friends or plan your excursions for the next day. There are many places of interest for you to visit, with Steam- the Museum of the Great Western Railway; Bowood House and Gardens; Lydiard Park and the prehistoric monument at Avebury being just some of those that are within easy driving distance.

Good stuff: Excellent & friendly Owners, nothing was too much trouble. It was a home from home with excellent service. Dinners to die for.!!

Bad stuff: There was nothing to dislike.

Overall: School House is one of the best small hotels that we have stayed in. We have stayed her twice now and will certainly stay again when in the area. The Owners are very friendly and helpful and have a great sense of humour. If you want a home from home hotel with service this is the one for you. The dinners are rather expensive but as the saying goes, 'you get what you pay for'. The quality of the food is suberb.
