Whitby is a small fishing village on the spectacular North Yorkshire coast. Famed for producing the tastiest oysters in England, it was also the home of the explorer Captain Cook and was chosen by Bram Stoker as the setting for her chilling Gothic tale of Dracula. There are also other things to see and do, the North Yorkshire Steam Railway (6miles), made famous in the 'Harry Potter' films runs through some of the most picturesque scenery and the village of Goathland, better known as Aidensfield in the hit TV series'Heartbeat', is just a short drive away.
