Our magnificent establishment has been part of the local culture for over four hundred years. Built as a hotel in the 16th century we have been an oasis of rest and recuperation for travellers passing through the area and locals alike. For many years it was a popular meeting place for cattle herders, with three of the major cattle trails meeting at our door.
Although there have been many changes over the years, many of the original features have been retained The warmth of character and charm of these features, such as pervade slate flagged floors, superb inglenook fireplaces and original timber work, including original beams in the bedrooms, creates a uniquely warm and atmospheric ambiance.
All of our 16 rooms are all totally different in design and style, but they all have one thing in common - they are all wonderfully comfortable and have everything you will need to make your stay with us a pleasant, enjoyable and relaxing time.
