Hotels Chorley England Cheap Chorley Hotels Guide
Welcome to our guide to cheap hotels in Chorley England. This town occupies a unique place in British history; and, after your visit,
it may well hold a place in your heart as well. Situated in Central
Lancashire, it's bore the world many famous sons. These include entrepreneur
Henry Tate (1819-1899), owner of the Tate and Lyle sugar company, and
founder of the Tate Gallery in London. As well as the people, there are some
magnificent old buildings here too, such as the 16th century Astley Hall,
which doubles as both a museum and an art gallery. The town was once best
known for its market. Its charter was granted in the 1250's, and it's been
doing business ever since. There are now two regular markets: the Covered
and the Flat Iron; with the latter taking its name from the practice of
sellers laying their wears flat out on the floor. The bargain hunting
doesn't end there however, as a trip to Botany Bay will confirm. Housed
within a restored and converted Victorian Mill, it features five floors of
furniture, antiques, crafts and collectables. You can see how some of these
items are produced with a trip to Cedar Farm Galleries, where you're invited
in to witness the making of jewellery, glass, ceramics, baskets and
textiles. There is also a fine cafe on site and a range of shops selling the
finished items. The M61 brings in visitors from Manchester and the M6 serves
the town from both North and South. If you need want to find where to stay in Chorley town this is the place to book your hotel room.
