Hotels West Sussex England Cheap West Sussex Hotels Guide

With over half of its lands designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we can officially say that this is one of the most attractive regions in England! The South Downs run clear through the heart of the county, their epitomising chalk ridges the prominent feature. They also helps mark the way for the famous 100 mile National Trail, which stretches from east to west, past charming country houses, nature reserves, wooded farmland and ancient chalk hill carvings. Another AONB surrounds the county headquarters of Chichester. It's a fitting partner to a stunning city; one which features architecture ranging from a Norman Cathedral to a Roman Palace. More timeless attractions are spotted around the countryside. Two in particular stand out: the 11th-century hilltop wonder that is Arundel Castle, and Pentworth House, complete with 700 acres of parkland landscaped by English history's top gardener (Capability Brown), and a gallery packed with paintings by Turner, Titian and William Blake. From here, head south for some of the best beaches the English Channel has to offer. Seaside trips beckon at Worthing, Littlehampton and Bognor Regis, where long, relaxing promenades and piers set the background for wide sandy beaches in this, one of the sunniest areas of the British Isles. If you would rather get away from the crowds, try a trip (by boat, on foot or on horseback) along the coast, to discover the many secluded coves and secret bays that can't be reached on the roads.
