Driving around the countryside is a must and you also have the option of the coastline with fabulous views and options. For the children there's lots on offer with Bristol Zoo just a short drive away, the Cheddar Gorge and Weston Super Mare - where you can have a very pleasant day by the seaside - donkey rides, ice cream and cream teas are all to be enjoyed here.
Take a ride in to Bristol for the day - there's a wealth of shopping with every main stream outlet and cafe bars where you can enjoy a breather. Antique shops, delicatessens, museums and plenty of pubs and clubs. Visit the Cathedral and enjoy the sights.
Golfing options are all around and if you fancy taking the children to do something a bit different then there's Paintballing at Cannington Park.
A little closer you could spend the day at Barrington Court Gardens where you will be enthralled by the expanse of flowers, aromas and colours. Walled gardens that will delight you and inside the manor house - furnishings and decor that give you a glimpse of days gone by when finery and class where at a prime.
