Our 16th century building has kept much of its old world charm and we have carefully created a tasteful combination of old and new - all modern day amenities in fully equipped ensuite rooms which have a very pleasant outlook over the picturesque scene. A good night's sleep in large comfortable beds and a hearty breakfast served in the morning as you contemplate your day ahead.
Take a leisurely stroll around the grounds as you breath in the fresh air and then perhaps venture in to Durham where you can see the sights - the Cathedral, Castle and the unusual Oriental Museum should be top of your list. Just half an hour from Newcastle Airport and the city where you an make the most of extensive shopping with a quick pop in to Gateshead.
Evenings are spent in an easy to dine atmosphere with a good choice from the menu and wines to accompany.
