Dating back to 1859 our Victorian Gothic Mansion overlooks the River Thames and sits serenely in its own grounds, just outside the beautiful Windsor. A famous spot where filming has allowed all to see this masterpiece - Hammer House of Horror and the St Trinians films were shot here. Dracula has visited too - wonderful and fictional of course.

Just a short drive to many heritage sites and all the wonders, delights and splendour of Berkshire country life. Close by you can visit the amazing Windsor Castle and grounds, Lego Land and the gorgeous Savill Gardens. Close to Maidenhead and Slough - the dynamic centre for business, exhibitions and conventions and home to some big names in the business world. Here you will find many leisure facilities including an ice rink, cinema, swimming pool and indoor tennis.

Enjoy days out at the races - Windsor, Newbury and Ascot are all within easy distances. Whilst in Newbury why not arrange that special treat for your loved one - a Hot Air Balloon ride which is the perfect way to see the whole Berkshire countryside.

Eton College is nearby and its just 20 minutes to Heathrow - ideal if you are off on that trip to a faraway place.

Good stuff: Very pretty & suberb attention to detail. Fantastic building!

Bad stuff: Breakfast seemed a bit disorganised with some of the staff seeming rushed and a little confused.

Overall: Very, very attractive building & grounds, particularly impressed when original features have been re-produced and used around newer parts of the builing to continue the theme. Felt the restaurant was quite expensive and although the meal & service was faultless, it would've been nice to have had an alternative for those with a tighter budget. At around £90 for 3 courses for 2 people & a very modest bottle of wine, even a bar snack would've been a welcome alternative.
