Historic towns in Royal Berkshire, named because iof its links to the Royal Family include Abingdon, Didcot, Harwell, Hungerford, Lambourn, Maidenhead, Newbury, Wantage and of course Windsor. Places to visit in Berkshire include the below

  • Basildon Park, Lower Basildon, Reading, Berkshire. A fabulous Palladian mansion constructed in 1776–83 by Mr John Carr for Francis Sykes.
  • Englefield Estates and House, Englefield, Theale, Reading, Berkshire. There is a record of a house on this same site in the Domesday Book
  • Savill Garden, Crown Estate Office, The Great Park, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 2HT, Tel 01753 847518. The gardens were started by Eric Savill in 1932. Further additions include added Herbaceous Borders and Rose Gardens.

  • Windsor Castle and St. George's Chapel, one of 3 official residences of The Queen of England and has been home to Her Royal Majesty for over 900 years.
