To travel to our wonderful establishment from Glasgow or Edinburgh will take you less than an hour by car, but we are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The perfect marriage of a historic building and modern facilities has created a unique atmosphere that is both warm and welcoming. The ideal place from which to explore this fascinating area.

There are many excellent reasons for visiting this beautiful country of Scotland, the superb scenery with picturesque mountains and valleys, waterfalls and lochs, the world famous whisky that gets its flavour from the natural spring water from which it is distilled, wonderful salmon and trout fishing, castles and monument and many other equally exciting attractions. From our central location in the popular town of Callander many of these attractions are just a short drive away.
Originally built in the 17th century the Dreadnought is steeped in the rich and varied history of the area, and now provides its guests with a superb blend of authentic Scottish history and modern facilities. We have sixty well proportioned and supremely comfortable rooms that have everything that you would expect to find in an establishment such as ours. Each room is equipped with its own colour TV and private bathroom, most rooms have a bath but we have a limited number that have showers. All of our rooms have a quiet and peaceful ambiance that is ideal for a relaxed nights sleep.
We have an excellent restaurant where you can sample some of the finest Scottish cuisine, plus English and International dishes that ensure that whatever your preferences there will be something to excite and delight your palette.
We are licensed for civil ceremony marriages and our experienced staff will be happy to help you plan your big day, from sherry to welcome your guests to a reception for up to 120 people. We can also cater for conferences and seminars with modern facilities available
