 Our wonderful elegant establishment is located in the very heart of the county town of Maidstone, ideally placed for those arriving by road or rail we are within easy walking distance of all the major attractions that this historic town has to offer. Privately owned and superbly comfortable we have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that will make your stay a pleasure.
Although there are many places to stay in Maidstone, there is only one hotel that can claim to be in the town centre, and that is ours. Originally built in 1802 as the Vicarage to the local parish church, it has had a long and varied history and has even been part of the local Government offices when it was the Water Rates office for Maidstone and the surrounding villages. Ten years ago in 1997 it came into the hands of the current owners who transformed the building into the wonderfully elegant and stylish establishment that you will find when you arrive and although many alterations had to be made, they were done with great care and sympathy for the building and much of its original charm and character has been retained. Unfortunately, because it is now a listed building, this does mean that we have not been able to install a lift.
When you arrive you can look forward to a warm welcome from your host or one of their friendly and experienced staff, who will make sure that everything is to your liking. We have a range of single, twin, double and family rooms that have all been elegantly decorated and equipped with everything you require for a relaxed and enjoyable stay, with the perfect blend of olde-worlde charm and the latest in modern technology.
Breakfast is served in our cosy breakfast room and we offer choice of full English, cooked to order from only the freshest, locally produced ingredients or continental breakfast.
A welcoming and cosy atmosphere in the centre of the town make us the perfect choice for those who want to enjoy this historic town.
