Mid way between the North Yorkshire Moors and Dales, in what has become known as 'Herriot Country' after the fictional TV vet who roamed this area, we are ideal as a stop over for those passing through the area on the main A1, or as a base for exploring the many delights that this beautiful area has to offer.

A modern and custom built hotel that has all of the facilities that we know the modern traveller looks for in their choice of accommodation. Set just off the main A1 at Bedale, we are a convenient stop over point for travellers en route from England to Scotland and the north east, and visa versa.
But we are perfectly located for visitors who want comfortable, well equipped and friendly accommodation from which to explore the many attractions that this beautiful area has to offer. About mid way between the Moors and the Dales, some of England's most spectacular scenery is only a short drive away and there are many historic stately houses, castles, abbeys and quaint 'chocolate box' English villages for you to enjoy.

Good stuff: Conveniently situated just off the A1. Disabled room close to reception.

Bad stuff: The room was an inadequate size for a wheelchair. The shower could only be accessed by a person who was able to climb into a bath. The room, despite being a non-smoking hotel, smelled of stale smoke.

Overall: Excellent restaurant for evening meals and breakfast. Rooms equipped adequately for an overnight stay including sufficient soap, shower creme & shampoo.
