Stay in the largest hotel on the seafront and enjoy super scenery out to sea. A short walk to the pier complex and attractions. Wonderful for a weekend break away from it all and a place of revival, refreshment and relaxation. A warm welcome awaits all our guests.
A special place that has so many secrets to be revealed. The town sits at the end of a peninsula between the River Orwell and River Deben estuaries on the east coast. Easy to access by road.
Wonderful ferry boat rides, seaside strolls and a step back in time where all the charm and magic of Victorian and Edwardian seaside holidays is felt in our present day modern society. We still have bathing huts where you can change in to your latest swim wear and 4 miles of sand and shingle beaches where you can chat with friends, built castles with the children and dig and play in and around the sea wash. Stripey sticks of rock, deliciously creamy ice cream and afternoon teas are all for the taking.
Amusements for the kids, bowling green for the elders and for the quieter visitors there's an abundance of bird life at the Nature Reserve and Bird Observatory alongside the Fort.
Take time out for dining in the evenings - there are a good variety of restaurants including our own Rattan restaurant which boasts an excellent Table D'Hote Menu as well as A La Carte and then perhaps a stroll down the promenade in the moonlight afterward.
Sundays are for that traditional carvery lunch and then a treat in one of the local ice cream parlours.
