Wonderfully peaceful and charming place to spend a few days. Perfect for that weekend away. Lovely ensuite rooms that are spacious, inviting and restful, nicely decorated. A warm and welcoming team of staff will ensure you have a very pleasant stay with us.

Super spot to base yourself if you love the outdoors. A time to relax and enjoy many activities and have that quality time with your beau.

The Mendip Hills are calling and make for a fabulous place to go walking, rambling and hiking. Be sure to explore the nearby caves, take those splendid photos and get plenty of fresh air.

Get out and about and explore the surrounding area - close to the Cheddar Gorge, Wells where there's a splendid Cathedral and the vibrant and exciting cities of Bath and Bristol.

If you have the children with you then be sure to visit Bristol Zoo - its a fabulous centre with so much more to offer than just the wild animals on show. There's a conservation theme here with protection for endangered species; a wonderful aquarium, gardens, a reptile house and the Zona Brazil which is highly interesting.

If that's not enough how about a trip to Bowood Adventure Playground - adults can enjoy the House and 100 acres of gardens whilst the children discover the slides and fun side of things. Pop in to the exhibition rooms where you will find on display porcelain, jewellery, paintings and costumes.

Roam around the countryside a little and stop off for afternoon tea - delicious cream and if in season strawberries too!

Good stuff: It was near where we needed to be.

Bad stuff: The place is totally run down. It was absolutely baking, due to the sunshine super heating the room all day, and with 2 under 3 year olds thats a receipe for disaster. We had 3 single beds rather than what we'd asked for, although the hotel was very busy.

Overall: Not a fantastic place to stay - i'm sure there would have been much nicer guest houses in the area, for a much more competitive price. The food was ok, service was prompt. If we were booked in for more than one night we would have cancelled after the first. Fantastic views though.

Good stuff: Rooms were clean, light, spacious and well equipped.

Overall: Accomodation, meals and staff were all excellent, this hotel is too good to close.
