Hotels Stafford England Cheap Stafford Hotels Guide

The County Town of Staffordshire is both historic and heart-warming. It's stuffed full of age-old churches, town houses and monuments, not to mention Stafford Castle - a tapestry of England's past in one location due to its constant re-development through the centuries. The town centre is one of the most remarkable in Britain thanks to the sheer quantity of wonderfully maintained old buildings lining the streets. These include rustic medieval churches and beautiful 16th Century oak houses, one of them said to be the oldest timber-framed building in England. Shire Hall is another of the town's countless 'must-see' buildings, with its imperial 1700's pillars and carvings it now doubles as an art gallery, meaning there's also something to gaze at inside its walls. As well as the rich heritage there're a range of more contemporary destinations such as the ever-popular Amerton Farm and Craft Centre. The farm is a hit with young and old, with a whole family of cute and cuddly local residents such as: lambs, rabbits, ponies and many more, which can all be fed and petted. There's also a garden centre on site as well as farm and cook shops where all manner of unique homemade jams, cheeses and beers can be bought. All these attractions can be reached stress-free via excellent road links (leave at junctions 13 or 14 from the M6) and direct trains run to and from both London Euston (1 hour 30 mins) and the closer Birmingham New Street (29 mins).
